Adieu Michael!

The kids and I were really excited to see Michael this week and take him to the MTC where he will train to serve his mission in Paris, France.  Chiara was so happy to see "Auntie Michael" ha!

Tuesday we grabbed some last minute things at the mall and ate at the Cheesecake Factory (yummy!)

One last meal before dropping him off!

Bon Voyage!

Good luck Michael!

Missionaries

Missons are kinda a big deal around Brunos.  So the missionary age change was really one of my favorite things about conference this year!  I'm also really excited to have two missionaries in the family, including the new Sister Bruno:

So proud of Desi for going out to serve the Lord and we are also super excited that Franny has her papers in!!! Michael and Eric are getting ready to serve soon also and we could potentially have 5 missionaries in our family! What a blessing!
Hopefully all our children also have a strong desire to share the gospel and serve the Lord throughout their lives.

Craving

Only those of you who love food from another country can appreciate how much it stinks not to be able to get the real thing here in the states...but at long last I have discovered a recipe and method for the food I miss most from Korea!

I love and miss Kimchi and now I have finally made something that tastes authentic!!! Smells authentic too judging by how much my brother and sister hate when I have it for lunch!

When I have Grown a Foot or Two

I have a picture like this...I hope this inspires Chiara like my picture inspired me!
Our family has a strong missionary heritage :) On her Larsen side there are missionaries such as Alma Larsen who served early in the church. On her Bruno side every person in her direct line has served a
mission so far!!!

I can hardly believe that it's been three years since I entered the MTC to serve my mission in the Korea Daejon Mission! My parents both served missions and because of their example I decided to go too.

I remember how nervous I was in the MTC and how anxious I was to be a good missionary...

It's funny because in those first weeks at the MTC I really believed that I was going to help others, and I think the person that benefited the most from my mission was me!

I realized that God can do this work regardless of me, but it was my privilege to be a part of it in this way... I also realized that sometimes we wait for the blessings as some distant future thing, when the real blessing is sometimes the experience!

This is an exerpt from what I wrote in my journal 3 years ago today...my first night in the MTC
"Today was the longest day ever. There were so many emotions. I felt the Spirit so strongly today and it really makes me want to do my best.... I'm excited and want to keep this Spirit I felt today with me always! I guess that means I better go to bed on time...right now!"
