Family Pictures!

On one of Stuarts rare visits home he took us to Magnolia Plantation...I have been so excited to go see it (I'm in love with the romance and history...ok well it's far more romantic now that there isn't slavery, but still) The best part is that it was right in the height of the spring blossoms...Seriously South Carolina basically is like living in a Thomas Kincade painting for all of spring...here is just an idea of how beautiful the gardens were:

Career Decisions

So basically the last year we have had absolutely no idea what we should be doing for a career path. And by us I mean Stuart. He basically has worked an odd assortment of jobs while trying about a million different options, none of which have worked out. He applied to the Navy, Grad School, 167,000 jobs (literally...he has a spreadsheet), but whether things just didn't work out or we didn't feel that it was the right timing it has taken until now for him to get something permanent. It was difficult because when Stuart entered the Construction Mtg. Program at BYU is was one of the few programs that boasted a 100% placement rate. With the economy we have been living a life very unlike the one we planned for. So in the meantime he started his own construction business doing remodeling and framing, and I worked here:

Well, finally we found one of the most unlikely options never before considered by the Larsen family (at least this branch):

Starting in February, Stuart began working as an Over-the-Road truck driver for C.R. England. I have now experienced having my husband always home and no money and having my husband never home and lots of money...Jury's still out on which I prefer. Regardless, however, I have learned to appreciate my husband more than ever. I am so glad that we get to experience this adventure of life together. Having him gone except about 3 days a month makes me appreciate what a wonderful man he is all the more. We are grateful for this opportunity and know that Heavenly Father is leading us. Where I have no idea...but I'm positive it'll be somewhere far better than what we planned for ourselves!

The good news is I'm back to my favorite career choice of all...a stay at home mama! I was lucky to meet and introduce several people to the missionaries and hope to be attending a few baptisms in the near future. It's neat that even though I had a job that I resented, it allowed me to meet a few people who have now started attending church and changing their lives. Heavenly Father loves all of his children and I now think even if the last year was just so that we were in the position to share the gospel with those three people it would be worth it...Hopefully it's a lesson I don't have to learn again :) But even if I do, I think I finally understand that no matter what we go through in life there is a way that it can become our profit.
